Online Therapy for Missouri Residents

Luke Schlimme, LCSW, online therapist

I'm Luke Schlimme, LCSW, a Missouri-licensed clinical social worker providing online psychotherapy to adolescents and adults throughout Missouri.

Online therapy allows us to work together from wherever you are in Missouri, without being limited by geography or the location of a therapist's office. My goal is to create the same kind of thoughtful, personal therapeutic relationship online that I would in an office—a place where you can talk honestly, understand yourself more deeply, and work through the things that may be keeping you stuck.

How I Can Help

Anxiety & Depression

Understanding what’s contributing to how you feel while finding practical ways to feel better.

Relationships & Communication

Exploring patterns, improving communication, and navigating intimacy, conflict, and connection.

Trauma & EMDR

Using EMDR and other therapeutic approaches to help process painful experiences that continue to affect you today.

Grief & Transitions

Making room for difficult emotions while adjusting to changes you may not have chosen.

LGBTQ+ Identity

A place to talk openly about identity, relationships, family, sexuality, aging, or whatever else is important to you.

Teens & Young Adults

Support through the pressures, relationships, identity questions, and transitions that can make these years complicated.

My Approach to Therapy

Therapy doesn't have to follow a single formula. Some people come to therapy looking for practical strategies to manage something happening right now. Others want to understand why certain feelings, behaviors, or relationship patterns keep appearing.

My work is client-centered and informed by psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other approaches. I'll listen closely, ask questions, offer another perspective when it may be useful, and sometimes gently challenge you to look at something differently.

Therapy that can go beyond the surface

Sometimes you need practical tools for what’s happening right now. Other times, understanding why a feeling, behavior, or relationship pattern keeps showing up becomes more important.

We can do both.

My work is client-centered and informed by psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and other approaches. I’m also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which can help us work with experiences and patterns that may be difficult to reach through conversation alone.

Insurance & Fees in MO

I participate with Medicare and select commercial insurance plans in Missouri, including Optum/United Health Care, Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, and certain Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.  Insurance participation can vary by individual plan, so coverage should be verified before beginning therapy.

My private pay fee is $150 for a 50-minute session.

Missouri Online Therapy FAQs

How does online therapy work for Missouri residents?

Online therapy works just like in-person sessions but is conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You simply need a private space, a stable internet connection, and a computer or smartphone to connect from anywhere in Missouri.

Is online therapy private and secure?

Absolutely. I use encrypted video conferencing software that meets strict healthcare privacy standards. Your confidentiality is my priority, and our sessions are as secure as an in-office visit.

What are your fees for sessions?

My private-pay fee is $150 for a 50-minute session. I also participate with Medicare and select commercial insurance plans in Missouri. Because coverage varies by plan, I recommend verifying your specific benefits before beginning therapy.

Finding the right therapist in Missouri matters

Therapy works best when you feel comfortable enough with your therapist to be honest—even when what you need to talk about is difficult.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will listen, support you, and also engage with you in the work, we may be a good fit.
You don’t need to have therapy figured out before you begin.
